That’s right; we have won a 2007 Leader Business Achiever Award for the Booroondara Region. Our local Leader Newspaper is know as the Progress Leader and covers the following areas:

Local business is the lifeblood of all Melbourne communities. It provides jobs, vital products and services and its diversity brings energy to the local community.

Without the efforts of hardworking local business owners and employees, Melbourne would be a very different place. Rarely are these dedicated operators publicly acknowledged for their outstanding efforts.

2007 marks the 12th year that Leader Community Newspapers has celebrated the achievements of local business through award recognition. In 2006 we proudly announced a fresh new look Business Achiever Awards. In 2007 we will continue this energy and enthusiasm with brighter events, greater qualifying criteria and rigorous judging processes to ensure we are awarding the best of the best.

Working in conjunction with the Victorian Employers' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI), our program offers rigorous, credible and professional approach to judging local business - the only one in the state.

Leader holds the Business Achiever Awards for 27 regions, covering all local newspapers across Melbourne. In 2007 we launch the Business Achiever Awards in our newly acquired newspapers, the Werribee Times, the Hobson Bay Times and the Western Times.

Our aim is to acknowledge and celebrate the success of businesses in their local communities. The program unites the local community, and in recognising the success and potential of local businesses, encourages community growth and development.

This year's Awards Presentation Evenings will be bigger than ever, with Marty Fields continuing his comedic excellence, exciting live entertainment by "The Trimmers" and a spectacular video tribute to local business - making it a night not to be missed!
